After two learning sessions on Thursday, I wanted to stretch the last one out at 3:45 p.m. in the Stemmons Ballroom to participate in Revenue Strategy: A New Direction for Revenue Management. Both presenters, Patrick Bosworth of Duetto Research and Cindy Estis Green of Kalibri Labs, shared best practices and offered new insights to the new frontier of revenue management. But it was getting late in the day. I can’t adjust to central time as yet since I’m from San Francisco, and already, it was a long day for me. I hung on and enjoyed the information shared by both Patrick and Cindy.
Off I went to the HFTP Volunteer Reception to honor R.P. Rama, CHA, CHAE, CHTP on the 70+ members that he recruited this past year. And then it was off to the Starlight Room in downtown Dallas to dance the night away in our 70’s Dance Party which was hosted by the good folks at IBS Club Management, ETS and the HFTP North Texas Chapter. I haven’t seen so many afros, platform shoes and go-go dancers in a long while. The night out was fun and festive, as the DJ blared out songs of yesteryear from the Hustle, Dancing Queen and Last Dance (just to name a few).
And I am thinking to myself, what do we have in store for Friday? After a full day of informative sessions to choose from — Internal Controls to Food and Drink — we still have the themed, “A Night in New York” President’s Evening affair to prepare for. Get the formal wear ready and see you in the evening.
