Calling All Young Professionals — Annual Convention 2013

For the first time, HFTP will feature a Young Professionals session theme as part of the 2013 Annual Convention and Tradeshow in Dallas. In addition to the other session themes for Annual Convention, young professional attendees, as well as other attendees, will have the opportunity to learn tips and lessons about growing both professionally and personally from distinguished speakers who have tailored their presentations to the younger generations. Whether you are a student, entry-level hospitality professional or an experienced industry veteran, the Young Professionals sessions are guaranteed to shed light on many aspects of development and growth. On Friday, October 18, 2013, three professionals speakers will present various topics to this year’s attendees and it is proving to be a much anticipated event.

A featured track is “Own Your Fabulousness: Leadership for Career Advancement,” presented by Tonya Hofmann, an international speaker and author of A Client a Day the Coffee Shop Way! Her focus is to help business professionals become more successful in sales, marketing and how to stand out from the competition. Hoffman is a profit strategist, corporate and entrepreneurial educator, and owner and founder of the Public Speakers Association. She has been recognized as the winner of the International eWomenNetwork conference 2008 Business Matchmaker of the Year Award and nominated for various honors including: the upcoming 2014 Most Connected Person on the World Award, the Most Connected Person in Dallas by the Small Business Conference and the Austin’s Business Journal’s Profiles in Power.

The second session is “Building Your Career Portfolio,” presented by life and career coach Karen Bragg-Matthews. She is also a speaker and facilitator, and President of KBM Career Concepts.  She draws on over 20 years of work experience in human resources and training in both small business and corporate arenas.  She has developed and facilitated numerous training programs across the United States and Canada and has trained thousands of people on a wide range of topics. She holds a bachelor degree in business administration, is a certified training manager, and is a graduate of Coach University. As a coach, Karen brings true clarity and support to her clients.  She has leveraged her keen knowledge of people to help them make real and lasting choices, and to look at new possibilities.

The third session will be presented by Patty Farmer, an award-winning and in-demand marketing professional, social media strategist, professional speaker, radio show host and co-author of two highly acclaimed books: “Make Your Connections Count” and “Success in High Heels.” She was listed in the Ultimate List of Social CEOs on Twitter, awarded Best Business Brand of 2012 for Networking CEO™ Radio Show, and named Best Business Connector in Dallas in 2010.
