On May 27, a meeting was held in Shanghai to gauge interest in charting a new HFTP China Chapter. Attendees came from across the cities and brought with them a mix of backgrounds including CFO, CEO and CTO from different domestic and international hotel groups. A presentation was delivered by Frank I. Wolfe, CAE, CEO of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) focusing on the global association. Several projects were introduced, as well — including the Hotel Yearbook 2020 Chinese version and Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry, 11th Revised Edition.
“It was a memorable gathering where finance leaders of several key hospitality groups were able to talk to Frank and each other about the development of finance in hotel industry. We hope that we can organize an active platform in which finance people can learn more and keep pace with the newest trend in the hospitality world.”

“It was quite an honor to have so many Chinese hotels represented in one place at one time,” said Frank Wolfe, HFTP’s CEO. “The hospitality of the Shanghai hospitality finance and technology community was amazing and we look forward to trading knowledge with our Far East members.”
Having a local chapter can help members expand their network, increase their educational opportunities and build strong connections with industry professionals. China, as a fascinating market, demands a professional platform that a new HFTP China chapter could help provide —bringing local professionals together, consolidating valuable resources and sharing solutions with professionals in the community. The HFTP China Chapter is actively being prepared and organized now. I invite you to follow HFTP for more news and updates to come.
