The 2018 HFTP Compensation and Benefits Survey was released this summer and made available to HFTP members. This is a biannual report that was developed to provide information on salaries and benefits, and to give an ongoing profile of accounting, finance and technology professionals in the hospitality industry. The history of the HFTP Compensation and Benefits Survey dates back nearly 30 years as the first version appeared in the October/November 1989 issue of HFTP’s The Bottomline magazine. In that article, Eliza C. Tse, Ph.D., provided a profile of the typical IAHA member, the precursor to HFTP. This tradition continues in the 2018 survey which presents information that can be used to conduct salary comparisons, budgeting processes, staffing guidelines, contract negotiation and benefits standards.
The 2018 survey was distributed in February 2018 to HFTP members, as well as other industry professionals affiliated with HFTP. As HFTP continues to expand globally with new international chapters and constituents attending events such as HITEC Europe and HITEC Dubai, the 2018 survey takes on a greater global view of the finance and technology professional. Respondents came from various world regions such as the Middle East and North Africa, Europe and the Asia Pacific. In total, 396 individuals accessed the survey and 293 respondents completed the entire 100 question survey.
The resulting survey provides a picture of staffing levels in hospitality organizations and how positions are compensated. Take a look at some of the resulting charts from the report.
